Rotary cutter blades (a.k.a. bush hog blades) are the most dangerous and the most frequently replaced part on a rotary cutter. Wrong blade type, missing balance grade or wrong mount holes means poor cut, vibration or catastrophic failure. Here is the buying guide.
Flat blade is basic cut, no lift. For finish mowing or where debris lift is unwanted.
Lift / lift-up blade has a curved end that lifts cut material. Best for brush hogging and pasture mowing.
Suction blade has high lift and creates a vacuum that stands grass up before cutting. Best for thick grass and brush.
Dual-edge blade is sharpened on both ends. Flip when one end wears for the longest life per blade.
Length: 24 inch (small ATV / compact), 28 inch (medium duty), 32 inch (standard), 36 inch (heavy-duty). Thickness: 10 mm (light), 12 mm (standard), 16 mm (heavy / brush). Match to your cutter model. Wrong length hits the deck or leaves an uncut strip.
High-carbon steel 50Mn2 / 65Mn / 40Cr, 45-55 HRC. Boron steel 30MnB5 available for extra impact resistance.
G6.3 (standard for rotary cutters, suitable for 540 rpm PTO). G2.5 (precision balance for high-speed or heavy blades, suitable for 1,000 rpm). An unbalanced blade causes vibration, bearing failure, even catastrophic disintegration.
Oval slot, round hole, star / splined. Match to your blade bar. Confirm the bar pin diameter (commonly 1 inch, 1-1/8 inch, 1-1/4 inch) before ordering. Always replace blades in matched pairs to keep balance.
Bottom line: Match type + length + thickness + steel + balance + mount. Send OEM code or a photo of your existing blade, we confirm within 24 hours.
