Bearing housings (also called bearing blocks or mounted bearings) combine a self-aligning insert bearing with a cast-iron or pressed-steel housing. The result is a pre-aligned unit that bolts onto a frame, with no need to machine a bearing seat. They are the workhorse of low-to-medium-duty drives.
