Solar mounting systems fall into three families: ground-mount, roof-mount and carport. Each has its own structural and corrosion requirements.
Ground-mount — helical ground screws with aluminium rails. Fast install (no excavation), works in most soil types, removable for site changes. Hot-dip galvanised steel for ground contact parts.
Roof-mount (tile) — stainless-steel tile hooks with adjustable L-foot. EPDM sealing for water tightness. Compatible with most clay / slate profiles.
Roof-mount (metal / flat) — L-foot brackets bolted directly to metal purlin or with ballast for flat-roof. Standing seam clamps available for snap-lock metal roofs.
Aluminium 6005-T5 for all structural rails and clamps (lightweight, corrosion-resistant). Stainless 304 for roof hooks, L-feet and coastal-site bolts. Hot-dip galvanised steel for ground-contact parts only.
Standard ground mount: 60 m/s wind, 1.5 kN/m² snow. Higher ratings available with heavier rails and closer pile spacing.
